My goal in nursing is to work in the ICU, particularly burn, neuro, or cardiothoracic ICU. I have loved learning ICU since I came into the program and what it is all about and am eager to work with critical patients. My overall goal is to obtain my doctorates and become a Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) which requires ICU experience to get into the program. My goal for NSA is to continue communication with other organizations on campus and further promote in working together in the drives that we have throughout the year. I also have another goal of getting more participants in our club such as students not in nursing yet, freshman in our program, RN-BSN students, as well as Master students. Establishing relationships between different students/cohorts throughout our education is important to me to see students network and be successful!

Hello! My long term goal for nursing is to become either a Family Health NP or an Infectious diseases NP in order to serve and provide quality care for the often underserved LGBTQ population. My goals for NSA include creating an amazing, educational, and interactive NSA bootcamp for you all this summer 2018 as well as creating a larger sense of community within the nursing program to help facilitate networking and in the end make it possible for everyone to land their dream-job. In my spare time I enjoy reading, attending $5.00 movie nights, having all you can eat sushi, and playing tennis (not very well).
Secretary: Danielle Larracas | EL-BSN, Class of 2019 | CSUFNSA.Secretary@gmail.com
Hi! I am interested in pursuing a nursing career in pediatrics and eventually continuing my education to become a pediatric nurse practitioner. I am passionate about taking care of children, and I am inspired by their resilience and determination to recover while being able to smile through even the tough times. A goal that I have for NSA is to be cognizant of the other people’s ideas and incorporate them into our meetings by asking NSA members for their input on what they would like to see in our general meetings and what they would like NSA to offer. By integrating all the ideas and requests from members, NSA can bring about positive aspects in nursing and allow members to have something to look forward to during monthly meetings and volunteering events. When I have spare time, I enjoy going to Disneyland, catching up on shows and movies, practicing calligraphy, hiking, shopping, and napping.
Treasurer: Janel Medina | EL-BSN, Class of 2019 | CSUFNSA.Treasurer@gmail.com
Hello everyone! I have a high interest in the emergency department field and I would love to advance in the future by getting my doctorate in nurse practitioner. As treasurer my goal is to help my fellow NSA members have enough budgets to complete their own goals; for example by budgeting correctly we can spend more money in making bootcamp even greater!
Outside of school I am very involved in my young adult Catholic ministry. As a side hobby I love decorating for parties. Besides that I am very consumed with school but I love it; I'm learning how to save lives! I look forward to working with you all year.
Scholarship: Araceli Casillas | Traditional-BSN, Class of 2019 | CSUFNSA.Scholarship@gmail.com
Hello! I am still exploring my different options for nursing. I don’t have a particular department my heart is set on, but I am leaning towards women’s health. Eventually I would like to go back to school and specialize in women’s health as a nurse practitioner. However in the meantime, I am eager to explore my different options and see what will best suit me in the near future! As Scholarship Chair, my primary goal is to bring forth a variety of scholarship opportunities to NSA members. I also want to provide constant reminders for the members of upcoming due dates through different online outlets. Lastly, I want to demonstrate to the NSA members that I am always available for any questions or concerns they may have when applying for scholarships! In my spare time I like to watch reruns of The Office on Netflix, going to concerts, and traveling!
Membership: Alyssa Reyes | EL-BSN, Class of 2020 | CSUFNSA.Membership@gmail.com
I am still unsure about the particular unit I want to work in as I still have much to experience in the next 2 years of school, but I do know I want to help conduct research or even lead my own trial. My main career goal is to graduate with my BSN, and then continue my education to earn a Master’s Degree. My goal this year for NSA is to get more members involved with events throughout the year so that they have the best experience! This means working with other board members for more volunteer opportunities and socials. When I am not studying or working, I love to go to concerts, relax at the beach, run marathons, play sports, go to Disneyland, catch up on my shows, and, most importantly, SLEEP! I am excited to serve you all and to have an amazing year!

Thanks for checking out our bios to get to know us. I am interested in caring for the geriatric population and hope to start my nursing career in a Medical-Surgical unit. My ultimate goal is to be either a geriatric or family nurse practitioner and volunteer for local and international medical missions. One of my goals for NSA this year is to see new faces fill the seats at our general meetings. NSA provides that place where prospective/nursing students can connect with each other and learn things that aren’t taught in lectures or clinicals. While being a student is my full-time job, I work at the TSU on the side. I also like making things like DIY projects, food, fun activities, and puns. I am very excited to work with my fellow board members to make this year’s NSA superb!
Activities Director: Tammy Liang | EL-BSN, Class of 2019 | CSUFNSA.Activities@gmail.com
I hope to work in the PICU or anything with the pediatric population! My goal this year for NSA is to be closer through more organized outings or socials during winter, spring, and summer break! On my free time, I enjoy sleeping, running, and watching korean dramas!
Co-Historian: Briana Soto | EL-BSN, Class of 2019 | CSUFNSA.Historian@gmail.com
Hi everyone! I am still carving my own path in nursing and am definitely open to a variety of fields as a nurse. That being said, I am leaning towards working in the NICU or pediatrics in the future! In my position on the NSA board I would love to be able to reach out to club members by keeping everyone involved with an updated website, bulletin board, and flyers during the school year! I also hope to meet everyone in NSA club meetings and events, like bootcamp! Outside of school I love to spend time with family and friends, particularly going to the movies, having food adventures, reading, and so much more.
Co-Historian: Mario Rubio | EL-BSN, Class of 2020 | CSUFNSA.Historian@gmail.com
Hello! Coming into this program, I was and still am very interested in psychiatric nursing, especially because of the stigma surrounding the subject of mental health, but as an incoming second year nursing student, I am eager to broaden my horizons and see what other departments/units I would work well in. As the person in charge of running NSA’s social media and promoting NSA events, my main goal is to persuade more students, Nursing and non-Nursing alike, to join the club. Along with being a Nursing major, I am also looking into minoring (or potentially double majoring) in Japanese. In my free time, I enjoy sleeping in, cooking, hanging out with friends, and watching TV shows.
Fundraising: Kimberly Fong | EL-BSN, Class of 2019 | CSUFNSA.Fundraising@gmail.com
After I finish my BSN at Cal State Fullerton, my hope is to further my education in nursing and become a pediatric nurse practitioner in an acute care setting. I have always had a passion to serve children, which really came about through my younger sister. Since then, I involved myself in fundraising events to support children’s hospitals, especially in the annual CHOC walk held this year on August 26th.
During my third year as NSA board member, my goal is to accumulate funds for our local hospitals and community health initiatives. I have already drafted up various designs that I can’t wait to launch this year!
Outside of nursing school, I enjoy outdoor activities, knitting, and singing. I also pass time with problem-solving games. I have recently started a collection of plush penguins and hope to see it grow over the years I spend in college. They are perfect companions for practicing nursing assessments, and they are extra sources of hugs when nursing school can get a little (too) stressful!!!
Convention Chair: Angelica Roxas | EL-BSN, Class of 2020 | CSUFNSA.Conference@gmail.com
Hi! My nursing career goal is to become a Pediatric ICU Nurse. Later on I would love to become a CRNA (Nurse Anesthetist) or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. There are so many specialties I have yet to explore, so I’m really looking forward to learning more about nursing in these next two years of school. My goal for NSA is to get more people interested in all of the great opportunities the club offers, especially the nursing conventions/conferences! In my free time I love going to Disneyland, trying out new places to eat, and hanging out with my friends.
BLS Director: Ayari Aquino Gallegos | EL-BSN, Class of 2019 | CSUFNSA.email@example.com
Hello! I want to become a Pediatric RN and am interested in continuing my education and getting my DNP in order to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. I’m interested in acute care and primary care PNP but am not sure which yet. My goal for NSA is to expand the BLS program and get other majors interested in healthcare and spread awareness on the importance of being CPR certified. On my bit of free time I love to watch movies, paint, go running, and playing with my golden retriever Cody.
BLS Coordinator: Ysabelle Balomadres | EL-BSN, Class of 2020 | CSUFNSA.firstname.lastname@example.org
Hi! Though I am still in the process of finding out my specialty, I am extremely interested in working in the ICU, particularly specializing in cardiology or neurology. However, in the future, I plan on going back to school to become a CRNA (hopefully at Cal State Fullerton). My goal this year for NSA is to make sure our new BLS program is working at its fullest potential and to expand the realm of CPR past those interested in the medical field. On my free time I love to go to Disneyland with my friends, watch my favorite tv shows (Grey’s Anatomy), and read!
BLS PR: Katie Gonzalez | EL-BSN, Class of 2019 | CSUFNSA.email@example.com
Hi there! My passion is currently in pediatrics and women’s health. Therefore, I plan to continue my education and become either a midwife or a pediatric nurse practitioner. As part of the NSA team, my goal is to reach out to various organizations on campus, along with healthcare related majors, and inform them about the possibility of learning how to perform CPR through our courses. In my spare time, I enjoy writing short stories, watching movies, and occasionally go hiking with friends.
Your 2017-2017 NSA Board is here to support you in whatever way you need! Nursing is a team sport!
